Semiling Opera Show

Chinese Opera (戏曲/戲曲) is often stereotyped as being for senior citizens, but not anymore today as with the latest technology available on stage by using the LED display with Chinese manique text to help younger generation to understand better of the story of the drama.

The popular form of drama and musical theatre is usually performs in Teochew or Hokkien dialects. The actors and actresses are mostly hired from China wearing colorful costumes, make-up and mask with some acrobatics skill.

The show is held occasionally on every chinese festivals at Semiling town's Opera Hall located just opposite to its one and only Tee Kong Temple (JADE EMPEROR).



Semiling town is located in Kuala Muda district, Kedah and is about 10 km from Sungai Petani town.
